Ludwig Musical in Fussen, Germany, Neuschwanste

Went to the Ludwig Musical in Fussen with Hans and Carla. We had a wonderful dinner before the performance. The Musical was outstanding, and an evening with Hans and Carla was most enjoyable. The next day, we visited Neuschwanstein Castle. This is known as the 'Fairy Tale Castle', as it was the inspiration for Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. Allgäu Attraction

We set out from our lovely accommodation outside of Roßhaupten in the direction of Neuschwanstein Castle. Only a shot drive via Füssen to get us to the public carpark. It’s late in the morning, the weather is miserable and I’ve spent half the night sitting up so that I wouldn’t choke on my own phlegm. The bright side to the weather is that the queues to visit the castle are short. The bright side to the cold is that I’ve got a good excuse to just pay the coachman to take us to the upper carpark. I didn’t take the reins, even though it was right-hand-drive! Filming is prohibited in the castle so you get to see the rear end of a horse instead. That may be more interesting for some viewers. We return to “our house” behind the chapel in the afternoon. Next day, it’s sunny. We make a small excursion to Kempten. A bit of sight-seeing and shopping on the local and imported produce. Still nice weather for the drive back to Roßhaupten through the rolling hills and rural scenery of the Allgäu.
