Hi, I am supposed to fly into Nairobi this afternoon, stay overnight and then go on safari the next day, first to Lake Nakuru for one day and then three in the Masai Mara. Due to all of the unrest from election results, I am very scared and think I may cancel my trip. Could someone who is there tell me what it is like at the moment and you they think it would be safe/unsafe to do this travel. I have never been to Kenya, so I also don’t really know what to expect. I am really stressing out, but I have already paid for my safari so I am reluctant to cancel it, but at the same time, I want to be safe more than anything. xx

Resolved Question: How soon in advance do you need to book a safari at Masai Mara NP in Kenya? Im wanting to take one in August.?
I know the end of July/earl y August is the wildbeast migration and also the most popular time to take a safari of Masai Mara. I want to be sure everything won’t be booked. My boyfriend and I are wanting to do a camping safari for 4-5 days. I will be in Kenya starting July 1st. Will this be too late to book a safari? Should I try to book one before leaving the states?
