Resolved Question: Pieces of pottery at karnak temple at Luxor Egypt?
On a recent visit to the karnak temple in Luxor Egypt, or guide pointed out the thousands of pieces of broken pottery that littered the ground near a wall. She said that the ancients used to bring offerings in terracotta vessels and smash them against the wall. She said we could in fact take one piece of the broken pottery home with us and that they dated from about five bc. Was she having a joke with us or could the pieces really be this old?

Egypt 2007 Deborah’s 50th BDay

Egypt 2007, Tour of Egypt with nine tour members and Ahmed our tour guide. Jay, Dad, Fab & Deborah went as a family to celebrate Fab’s and Deborah’s birthdays.Visited sites such as:• Chadel of Salah al-Din (Mohammed Ali’s great alabaster temple)• The Egyptian Museum• Karnak Temple (where Hatsheput obelisk is located near her fathers)• Dendara Temple ( The Temple of Hator)• Valley of the Kings tombs (where I went into three tombs and hiked to Hatsheput’s tomb which was not open to the public)o Hatsheput was the only Queen who made herself a pharaoh by putting on the pharaoh beard and ruled Eqypt.• The Unfinished Obelisk of Hatsheput in Aswan• Kom-Omo Temple (where the calendar much like the Mayans is carved)• Luxor Temple• Edfu Temple (The Temple of Horus• Philae Temple (The Temple of Isis, visited during the day and for the night show)• Had High Tea at the Old Cataract Hotel• Ramesseum Temple• Abu Simbel Two Temples (The Temple of Ramesse to warn off enemies and a smaller temple for his Queen Nefertary from Nubia.• Giza Pyramids (with the Sphinx)• Great Pyramid tomb of Cheops (which I went exploring into)• Cheops Boat Museum• Imhotep & Saqqara• Mit-Rahina (step pyramid of Joseph, the man of many colors coat who became King)The boat cruise on the Nile River was peaceful and I felt like Cleopatra saying to Julius Caesar, “This is my kingdom”. From both sides of the boat the land was lush with date palm trees, sugar cane fields and children waving and swimming in the Nile. All the homes were made of sandstone brick mud, all not finished to avoid taxing. All looked like the pictures from the bible stories in Jesus time on Earth.I am in awe with the large vast Temples built in ancient Egypt, the carving into granite, and the painting still visible today. The stories of the Christian crusades defacing the statues and deity Gods. It was clear to me that the efforts to end the mystic ways began in ancient Egypt. However lost some of those rituals and understanding of the mystic ways of being; these Temples, the mummified crocodiles, cats, dogs, baboons and their noblemen Kings and Queens bleed connection with nature. They honored what they feared and loved and gave homage to them all.Somewhere during the decades we are were taught to kill what we fear before seeking first to understand. This precludes of course the gun to the head scenario. Not everyone lives their lives in good character but I believe the efforts to destroy other living beings comes from being conditioned to do so. We are taught and fed fear without honoring the truth we all serve a purpose. May we awaken to our understanding of our higher purpose.Egypt is a land that remembers and it was a life changing experience.

Resolved Question: Can you help plan my LUXOR trip?
My partner and I will be arriving in Luxor on the 20th June and are trying to plan our Luxor trip in advance as we leave on the 27th June. I arrive there in the morning on the first day so I thought Karnak temple for the first day (nothing too heavy). Next day I’m thinking the Kings Valley and then crossing the mountain to go to the Hatchibsut Temple and then then after visiting the Habu Temple On my third day I was going to go to the Luxor temple, Luxor Museum and mummifcation museum & the Old Market What do I do from here onwards? We’re in our late 20’s if that helps. I’d love to go to Cairo to see the pyramids by plane though, any advice?
