Resolved Question: I want to travel to Zurich, then to Florence,Italy and Rome.?
Anyone done that? Can you share your itinerary, how’s and where’s to stay, etc - I have a limited budget, travelling with hubby and 10 year old son. I have 12 days and would like to do it in November this year. Thanking you in anticipation!
Resolved Question: Value of American Dollar..traveling to UK & parts of europe?
I’ll be renting a double room in London for about $140 pounds (7nights, includes meals by host family). Then I’ll be renting a room for 1 month in Florence, Italy for $360 euros. For me, at the current rate, that is about $260 for the room in LOndon, and $ 560 for the room in Florence. Do you think the dollar will continue to decline against the euro and sterling pound? Should I buy currency online (Xe universal converter website) ahead of time, or wait to get the money at atm when I get there to get the best rates? I will be out from May 24-July 15th, and then a few other places(mainly germany). Ok, that it what I wanted to know. Thanks guys.
Resolved Question: I am planning on going to Florence,Italy for vacation in November.?
Hi, I live in London and have just recently started travelling. I love meeting up with the locals of the places that I got to as they can inform you about stuff that you would’nt normally know about the place. Im a 24 Year old female and responses from both NORMAL male and females are welcome. Thanks!
Resolved Question: Where do I go to find out if my prescription is legal in other countries?
I am traveling to Florence, Italy in a couple of days, and I am planning to take my prescription for ortho tri-cyclen lo. I have heard that common medications in the US are sometimes banned in other countries, so I want to make sure that this is ok.

Resolved Question: First time on a cruise, what can I expect as far as rooms, activities, abroad stops/visits, emergencies…?
Planning on taking a 12 day cruise with Carnival to Europe. Will be going on my own, either this winter or next summer. What are the rooms where you sleep like? Small, noisy, with/without bathrooms…? How is a typical stop handled? For instance, we’ll have 9 hours in Florence, Italy. Do you have to be in groups like a tour setting? How do they know you’re back onboard? What are some kinds of activities you’ve participated in onboard? How are they run? For large ships, is there still a lot of movement/swaying of the boat? I’m not sure of wherther or not i’ll get seasick. I can’t think of anything else to ask, but EVERYTHING you can tell me would be helpful. The cruise sites focus on what they have to offer such as nightlife and dining, which tells me nothing about how my experience will be. Will call a travel agent eventually for info, but would rather hear from someone not trying to sell me. Thanks! If you would rather email: missamerikah19@yahoo.com.

Amazon Best of the Month, June 2008: Trying to describe a Salman Rushdie novel is like trying to describe music to someone who has never heard it–you can fumble with a plot summary but you won’t be able to convey the wonder of his dazzling prose or the imaginative complexity of his vision. At its heart, The Enchantress of Florence is about the power of story–whether it is the imagined life of a Mughal queen, or the devastating secret held by a silver-tongued Florentine. Make no mistake, it is Rushdie who is the true “enchanter” of this story, conjuring readers into his gilded fairy tale from the very first sentence: “In the day’s last light the glowing lake below the palace-city looked like a sea of molten gold.” At once bawdy, gorgeous, gory, and hilarious, The Enchantress of Florence is a study in contradiction, highlighted in its barbarian philosopher-king who detests his bloodthirsty heritage even while he carries it out. Full of rich sentences running nearly the length of a page, Rushdie’s 10th novel blends fact and fable into a challenging but satisfying read. –Daphne Durham

Filippo Brunelleschi’s design for the dome of the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence remains one of the most towering achievements of Renaissance architecture. Completed in 1436, the dome remains a remarkable feat of design and engineering. Its span of more than 140 feet exceeds St Paul’s in London and St Peter’s in Rome, and even outdoes the Capitol in Washington, D.C., making it the largest dome ever constructed using bricks and mortar. The story of its creation and its brilliant but “hot-tempered” creator is told in Ross King’s delightful Brunelleschi’s Dome.
